Ingredients:  
1 qt. cut string beans
1 qt. milk
1/4 c. - 1/2 c. bacon
1 large onion
1/4 c. flour
3 - 4 diced potatoes

Directions:
Directions:
Salt and cook green beans until partly done. Add milk. Brown bacon. Slightly brown onion in bacon drippings. Add flour to bacon & onion, mix well. Add to soup mixture. Add potatoes to soup mixture.

Grandma was complaining that she had gout again and had been to the doctor and he put her on a strict diet to clear it up. She preceeded to tell me that she couldn't eat fresh vegetables like asparagus, beans, peas, etc. When I asked her what she was making for supper, she told me...."fresh green bean soup"! Remember how she wasn't so good at listening to her doctors sometimes???
