Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups of warm water or warm milk
1 1/2 cups of vegetable oil to fry the bread

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in water and knead the mixture into a soft dough, until it pulls away from the bowl and not sticky. Be careful not to over knead. Let the dough stand with a kitchen towel for at least 30 minutes. Form into soft egg size pieces and pat and stretch into 1/4 inch thick rounds. If the dough is sticky, it is ok to add more flour. Heat oil in a large skillet over moderately high heat until it is hot, but not smoking. Fry the bread one at a time for at least two minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown. Poke with a fork when it starts to bubble after it starts frying to brown evenly. Place bread as they are fried onto a paper towel to drain off oil. To keep the oil from burning, keep the head adjusted. After you have placed one dough into the hot skillet, immediately start forming another dough. You will need to work fast.
