Pat graduated from Commerce High School in 1939 and began her work career for J.I. Case Co. in Portland, where she met Bob. Prior to his going overseas during WWII, they lived in Louisville, KY and Needles, CA, among other places. Following his return, they lived in Verboort, OR, then moved to Hillsboro, where they lived for some 30 years before moving to Beaverton, then Salem where she worked in the State Archives. Following her retirement, she moved to Eugene, where she lives now.

After HS, Bob enlisted in the Army, attended OCS and served in Europe during WWII, where he was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Silver Star. Following his return in 1945, he began working in the family farm implement business, but was called to serve again during the Korean War. Upon his return, he continued working in Hillsboro for many years, until moving to Maui in 1968, becoming the Truck Manager for Valley Isle Motors. Upon his retirement, he returned to Cornelius, Oregon.
