1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 c. quick-cooking grits
water (according to grits instructions)
1/2 c. (2 oz) shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 c. flour
1 egg (beaten)

6 eggs
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 lb. ground mild pork sausage (cooked, drained, and crumbled) - I use 1 lb. of sausage
1 c. (4 oz) shredded cheddar cheese
4 green onions (chopped)

Preheat oven to 350.

For crust, combine water and garlic powder in medium saucepan. Bring to boil. Stir in grits and boil again. Reduce heat, cover, and cook for 6 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat

In small bowl, combine cheese, flour and eggs. Add to grits and stir. Spoon into 9x13 baking dish and press evenly on bottom and slightly up sides.

For filling, whisk eggs, mustard, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Stir in sausage, cheese, and onions. Pour onto crust. Bake 45-50 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

Serve hot.
