1 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. sugar
2 tsp vanilla
1 c. sour cream
6 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Beat together shortening, egg, sugar and vanilla. Fold in sour cream, making sure not to beat too much. Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix just until blended. Roll out dough to about 1/4 inch thickness on floured sheet and cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 7 -10 minutes. Do not overbake.
Dough freezes well.

You can lighten these up a bit by using fat free sour cream. Be sure not to roll out the dough too thin or you will miss out on the great plumpness and fluffiness that makes these probably the best sugar cookies you'll ever have!
