4 c. white bread cubes, 1/2 cup raisins, 2 cup milk, 1/4 cup of butter, cut up, 2 eggs slightly beaten, 1/2 cup gradulated sugar, 1tsp, grond cinnamon, 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup packed bown sugar, 1/2 cup half-and-half or light cream, 1 tsp. vanilla.

Step 1. In a large bowl, combine bread cubes and raisins In a medium saucepan, combine milk and the 1/4 cup butter. Heat until milk is steaming and butter is nearly melted, stirring occasionally. Pour over bread mixture Let stand for 10 minutes. Step 2. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 1 1/2- quart cassserole; set aside. In a small bowl, combine eggs, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, cinnamon, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and nutmeg. Stir into bread mixture. Pour into prepared casserole. Step 3. Bake for 50 to 55 min. or until surface is puffed and a knife inserted near the center comes out clesn. Cool slightly. Step 4. Meanwhile, for sauce; In he same saucepan, combine the 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, brown sugar, and half- and- half. Cook and stir over medium heat for 5 to 8 min. or until sauce is slightly thickened and just comes to a full boil. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla. Serve sauce with the bread pudding.
