1 lb. chopped dates
1 c sugar
1-1/2 c boiling water
1 heaping Tbsp. cornstarch
1-1/2 c flour
3/4 c butter
1-3/4 c quick oats
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Mix dates, sugar, water, and cornstarch and thicken over medium heat. Cut butter into dry ingredients to make crumb mixture. Put 3/4 of crumb mixture in bottom of flat cakepan. Pour date filling over crumb mix when slightly cooled. Sprinkle on remaining crumb mixture. Bake 20 minutes. Top with whipped cream to serve.
