Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 1-ounce squares unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
3/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
In glass bowl melt butter and chocolate in microwave on medium heat for about l or 2 minutes. Stir in sugar. Blend in eggs one at time. Add vanilla. Stir in flour and nuts; mix well. Spread in greased 8x8x2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Be careful not to overbake. Cool. Cut into 16 squares.
Double the recipe for a 9x13 inch pan.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I frost these with the 2 minute fudge recipe found elsewhere in this book. For an 8x8 inch pan, the frosting recipe will cover at least 3 batches of brownies.
Also, for the chocolate, I usually use the substitution of 3 T. baking cocoa and 1 T. of butter instead of the square of chocolate so it would take 6 T. baking cocoa and 2 T. butter for this recipe.
