6 tablespoons margarine
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 egg whites
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/4 cup molasses
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup flour
(to roll cookies in)
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl beat margarine, brown sugar, egg whites, and molasses (mixture will look curdled). Stir together all dry ingredients, except white sugar, and add to molasses mixture. Mix, cover, and chill dough (about a 1/2 hour in the freezer). Form dough into balls and roll in white sugar to coat. Bake at 375º on ungreased baking sheet for 8-10 minutes. Do not over bake or they will lose their chewy texture.
