2 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 lemon

Boil sugar and water for 5 minutes. Cool and refrigerate up to a week. For two shakeups, squeeze juice from half lemon into an 8-oz glass. Fill glasses with ice, add lemon rind and 3 T. syrup. Fill glasses with water and shake (or stir) well.
