2 lbs. pecans; 4 egg whites; 2 cups sugar; 1/2 lb. butter; pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in shallow baking pan. Salt pecans to taste. Beat egg whites until stiff. Add sugar and pinch of salt. Add pecans to egg white mixture. Spread over melted butter. Place in oven at 250º. Stir every 10 minutes until nuts are covered and browned. (no longer than 1 hour). Spread on brown paper bag to dry before serving
