Ingredients:
1 cut-up chicken (3-4 lb.)
1 large onion, chopped fine
1/4 cup butter or chopped bacon
3/4-1 tsp. paprika
Salt to taste
1 1/2 c. water
1 c. sour cream
4 tbsp. flour

Directions:
Directions:
1.) In a large pot, wilt onion in butter or bacon.

2.) Add paprika, salt, and chicken; brown.

3.) Add water, cover, and simmer chicken until tender (about 45 minutes).

4.) Remove chicken from pot.

5.) Thoroughly mix and blend sour cream with flour.

6.) Carefully add sour cream mixture into pot and simmer for 5 minutes. Gravy should be of thicker consistency. If too thin, sift and briskly whisk in a little more flour to desired consistency. If too thick, you can add a little half and half.

7.) Add chicken back into pot and simmer in gravy for about 5 minutes.

Serve with Raised Bread Dumplings and Sweet Sour Cucumbers.
