½ cup soft shortening, (part butter or margarine)
¾ cup sugar (half brown, half white)
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
Sift together and stir into above
1 1/8 cup shifted flour
¼ tsp soda
½ tsp salt
1 6 oz package chocolate pieces

Mix together thoroughly all ingredients.
Place on greased cookie sheet by the teaspoon. Bake on 375 for 8 to 10 minutes.
