3 cups pecan pieces
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup or 1/2 stick butter or margarine, melted
1 pkg. (14oz) caramels
2/3 cup whipping cream
1 pkg or 8 squares semi-square baking chocolate
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350.
Place 2 cups of pecans in food processor until finely ground. Mix with granulated sugar and butter; press in pie pan. Bake 12 minutes until browned. Cool completely.
Microwave caramels and 1/3 cup whipping cream for
3 minutes. Pour in crust.
Chop remaining 1 cup pecans;sprinkle over pie.
Place chocolate, remaining whipping cream, powdered sugar and vanilla in saucepan; cook and stir on low heat until chocolate is melted. Gently spread over top of pie. Refrigerate 2 hours.
