3/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. margarine
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
2 eggs
4 c. flour
4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Measure dry ingredients in a bowl; mix with fork and set aside. With mixer, cream shortenings and sugar. Add eggs; beat well. Add molasses; beat well. Stir in dry ingredients. Remove bowl. You may have to add additional flour.(up to 1/2 c.) Dough should follow wooden spoon. Put in smaller bowl, cover, chill a few hours or overnight. When ready to bake, form 1 in. balls and roll in granulated sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375º for 10-11min. They will rise and fall into crinkles. Yield: 6 - 7 dozen

This recipe has been doubled and it will fill a 5 qt. ice cream bucket, the container Grandma Buhler most often used. Woodbury and St. Paul grandkids' favorite cookie.
