2 1/4 c. flour
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. unsweetened cocoa
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. (5oz.) whole almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients except the almonds. Mix well with spoon. Add almonds. Place 1/2 of dough on 10" by 15" rimmed cookie sheet prepared with Pam. Form a slightly rounded 4"by12" loaf 3/4" thick. Repeat with other half of dough. Bake 30 min. in 350º oven. Remove from oven and reduce temperature to 325º. Cool loaves 20-25 min. Then cut into 1/2 in. thick slices. Lay the slices cut side down on cookie sheet and bake 15 min. more. Turn them over and bake another 15 min. or until very crisp. Allow to cool. Store in airtight containers. Note: Nancy uses 2 cookie sheets. Yields 4 dozen.
