1/2 loaf cocktail rye bread slices
1/2 lg Granny Smith apple, minced
1 c. grated extra-sharp cheddar cheese (1/4 lb)
3 T. mayonnaise
1 T. honey
1 t. Dijon mustard
1/4 t. caraway seeds
fresh ground pepper, to taste

Directions:

Toast bread slices lightly under broiler, turning once.
In a large bowl, combine other ingredients. Spread each toast slice with teaspoon of mixture. Broil about 4" from heat until cheese is bubbly.
