For the Cake:

2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk
1 tbsp. butter or margarine

For the Frosting:

1 cup flaked coconut
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
6 tbsp. melted butter or margarine
1/4 cup light cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla

For the Cake:

Beat eggs until lemon colored and thick. Add sugar and beat at medium speed for 4 or 5 minutes. Stir together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl and then add to the egg mixture. Stir until blended. Heat milk and butter until the butter melts (make sure the milk is hot). Stir into the batter. Mix well. Pour mixture into greased and floured 9” pan. Bake at 350º for 25 or 30 minutes.

For the Frosting:

Combine all ingredients and spread over the hot baked cake. Place under the broiler, 4" or 5” from the heat. Broil until brown and bubbly, about 2 minutes.
