1/4 C. butter
1/4 C. flour
29 ounces beef broth (Swanson's boxed broth is great)
1/4 C. diced carrots
1/4 C. diced onion
1/4 C. diced celery
1 C. frozen mixed vegetables
3/4 tsp. Kitchen Bouquet (bottled, in spice section)
1/4 tsp. ground pepper
1/2 C. canned cut tomatoes (diced is fine, too)
1 T. cooking oil
1/2 pound beef steak chunks

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in large saucepan. Stir in flour. Cook and stir over medium heat 1 minute. Add broth all at once and stir until bubbly. Add vegetables, Kitchen Bouquet and pepper. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer (covered) for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, in medium skillet: brown steak in cooking oil then drain off the fat. Add meat and tomatoes to soup. Cover and simmer 10 minutes until tender.
