1 gallon apple cider
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 T. whole allspice
2 T whole cloves
3 sticks cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Tie the three spices in a cheesecloth bag. Add to the cider along with the brown sugar and salt. Simmer for 20 minutes. Serve.

This recipe came from a local farm market here in Benzie county years ago. It's very good on a fall evening and could easily be halved if a lesser amount is desired.
