1 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 large banana
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup chopped nuts

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Sift flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg together. Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and banana and blend. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix. Stir in rolled oats and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.

3. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
