Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 - 2 pounds cubed beef or a small beef roast
black pepper ~ "a good sprinkle"
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. parsley flakes
pinch of Basil
1 large can tomatoes, stem ends removed
2 potatoes, peeled & cubed
1 - 2 can(s) "VegAll" mixed vegetables
water as needed to achieve desired consistency
handful or two of barley

Directions:
Directions:
Cook beef however you like until tender. Cut into small pieces. Put beef and all the other ingredients into a large soup kettle or dutch oven. Simmer on low for an hour or so before serving.

The amount of each ingredient can be adjusted according to taste. More tomatoes may be added (home canned are wonderful!). Thinly sliced cabbage may also be added.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
From Trish: Real onion may be used in place of the onion powder ~ as long as you're not serving it to one of the many family members who cannot abide a cooked onion!
