1/4 cup chili powder
2 Tablespoons cooking oil
1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes
2 cloves garlic
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin

Directions:
Directions:
Cook and stir chili powder in hot oil over medium low heat for 4 minutes. Place undrained tomatoes in a blender. Add chili powder mixture and garlic. Cover and blend till smooth. Transfer to a saucepan. Stir in sugar, salt, oregano, and cumin. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes or till slightly thickened.
Store tightly covered, in refrigerator up to 2 weeks. Serve warm as a topper for tamales and main dishes.
