1 1/2 c water
1 1/2 c raisins
1 c butter
1 1/2 c sugar
3 eggs
1 t vanilla
3 1/2 c flour
1 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
1 t salt
Granulated sugar to roll cookies in
Directions:
Directions:
Combine water and raisins in saucepan; cook over medium heat until all the water is absorbed. Cool.

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well. Stir in raisins and vanilla. Mix flour, baking powder, soda, and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Stir until flour disappears. Drop dough by rounded teaspoon into dish of sugar. Roll around in the sugar and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 oven for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned, cooling on racks.
