1-1/2 cups Flour Sifted.
2 teas. Baking powder
3/4 teas. Salt
3 Tbl. herbs (Parsley, Chives, Thyme, Basil, and or Marjoram. Just one, are make a blend of your favorites. Don’t be afraid to try different combinations.)
3 Tbl. Butter
3/4 cup Cold Milk

Sift the dry ingredients together; lightly toss the herbs in with the flour. Cut in the butter. Stir in the milk only until blended. Let sit for a few minutes before you add to the boiling stew. Drop by spoonfuls onto the chicken or boiling meat stock. (Be careful not to splash and don’t let the stew stop boiling) Cook 10 minutes uncovered. Then cover tightly and cook 10 minutes more. (Don’t let anyone uncover the pot until the 10 minutes are up, or your dumplings will be soggy not fluffy)

Want tender fluffy dumplings? Always measure the flour after you have sifted it. Then sift the flour again with all the other dry ingredients to blend them together. It’s worth the time and effort
