1 German chocolate cake mix* , 1 (14oz.) bag caramels, 1 (5oz.) can evaporated milk, 1 stick margarine or butter, 1 (12oz.) bag semisweet chocolate chips, 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions:
*Mix cake as directed on cake mix pkg. using eggs, water, and oil called for. Pour half the batter into greased and floured 9" x13" pan. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Meanwhile,place unwrapped caramels, evaporated milk and butter or margarine in large pan. Stir over low heat until blended and creamy. Pour caramel mixture over top of warm cake. Sprinkle chocolate chips and 1 c. of chopped nuts over caramel mixture. Pour remaining batter on top and sprinkle with remaining nuts. Bake 20 more minutes.
