2 cups sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1/4 tsp salt
2 egg whites
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp powdered sugar
nuts - if desired.

Directions:
Directions:
Mix 1st four ingredients in heavy pan. Slowly bring to boil until sugar dissolves. Cook to 260 degrees (hard ball). Slowly add to beaten egg whites, beating constantly. When begins to hold shape, add vanilla, powdered sugar and nuts. Drop from teaspoon or put in buttered pan.

Mom didn't much like making divinity since she felt it was too unreliable. But, I never sampled a batch I didn't like.
