2 cups sugar
1 cube oleo
pinch of salt
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 cups quick oats
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts or coconut

Directions:

Mix above ingredients. Bring to a boil and boil hard for 1 minute. Remove from heat and add peanut butter, quick oats, vanilla and nuts (or coconut). Drop from spoon onto waxed paper.

Fantastic cookies. The coconut ones were my favorite, but Betty Ann would debate that. This recipe was credited to Barbara Brogger. I assume she must have been someone who brought kids to Mom for babysitting, but I'm not sure. These cookies are included with the Christmas recipes since they were always one of the holiday standards, but Mom was known to make these at other times of the year as well.
