1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 Cup chopped onion
2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
3/4 Cup catsup
1/2 Cup green pepper
1/2 Cup chopped celery
1/4 cup water
3 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. prepared mustard
2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1-2 tbsp. chili powder
8 hamburger buns, split and toasted

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef with the garlic and onion, until the meat is brown and the onion is tender. Drain fat and set aside. Meanwhile, in a 3-4 quart crock-pot, combine catsup, green pepper, celery, water brown sugar, mustard, vinegar, Worcestershire, and chili powder. Stir in meat mixing well. Cover and cook on a low setting for 6-8 hours, or on a high setting for 3-4 hours. Spoon into toasted buns and serve.

This recipe was a big hit with the FIGI'S at Baylor University. Whenever I would go to visit Paul at Baylor, those boy's would put together a list of "Meals we hope your Mom will make while visiting" and this was always #1 on the list! Great for any crowd!
