CAKE:
1 c oats
1 1/2 c hot water
1/2 c butter
1 c brown sugar
1 c sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/3 c flour
1/2 tsp soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp nutmeg

TOPPING:
6 T butter
1/2 c cream
1/2 c brown sugar
3/4 c coconut
1 c nuts
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
CAKE: Soak oats in hot water for 15 minutes. Beat in butter, brown sugar, sugar and eggs. Beat for 2 minutes; add flour, soda, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. Pour into a greased 9x13" pan. Bake 20- 25 minutes at 350º.

TOPPING: Mix butter, cream and sugar together in a saucepan; cook until thick, stirring constantly. Add remaining ingredients and beat until thick enough to spread on cake. Put on cake; put in the broiler, not too close to flame for about 15 minutes or until brown - watch closely so as not to burn.
