Ingredients: 2 TLB Yeast 2 TLB Sugar 1/2 Cup Water ~ ~ ~ 3 eggs beaten 1/2 Cup Sugar ~ ~ ~ 1/2 Cup Shortening 2 Cups Scalded Milk 1 1/2 tsp. Salt 7 - 8 Cups Flour

Directions:Put warm water in bowl. Sprinkle sugar on top and sprinkle yeast on top of sugar and water. Let set to rise. Mix together eggs and sugar. In Tupperware Bowl mix together shortening, milk and salt. Stir until cool. Add egg mixture. Stir. Add Yeast Mixture. Mix Well. Sift in flour 1 cup at a time, but don't over mix. Mixture should form a sponge. Keep adding all flour and knead lightly with tips of fingers. Form into round ball. Grease with margarine/butter on all sides and place back in clean Tupperware bowl. Cover with Wet Dish Towel. Let rise until double or dough springs back after indented. Punch down and let rest. Divide into 3 balls. Roll ball out into circle. Cut from center to edge forming triangle. Roll from outside to center and place on Jelly Roll Pan. Continue until all dough has been rolled out and placed on pan. Let rise until double and Bake 350 degrees for 10- 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with your homemade jellies or frozen jams. |
