baking powder, salt, flour lard, egg and
one chicken

Directions:
Flat dumplings served with chicken. Stew the chicken and take off the bone. Cut in small pieces.

Mix 1 1/2 flour, 1/2 t salt, 1 table spoon of lard or shortening the size of an egg, 1 t baking powder, 1 egg beat up in enough water to make 1 cup.

Roll or pat out on floured board. Cut in squares and drop in with chicken and broth. Cover and cook till dumplings are done. Don't keep lifting the lid!!
(that's what my Mother would always say)
