1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon vinegar
6 tablespoons wesson oil
1 cup water

1. Put all dry ingredients in a square pan.
2. Add all liquid ingredients.
3. Stir (yes, right in the pan!)
4. Bake at 350º for 30 minutes.

This is a recipe made often by Belle (Stoese)Hayes for her grandsons, Kenny and David (they called her "Dee Dee"). No one knows where she got the recipe, but it was thought to have "strange" ingredients for a cake (such as the vinegar), but they always loved it!
