5 Cups Flour
1/4 cup sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 cup Shortening
1 pkg. (1 TLB) active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
2 cups buttermilk
Melted butter of shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together into mixing bowl flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and soda. Cut in shortening with pastry blender or two knives. Dissolve yeast in warm water and mix with buttermilk. Add to dry ingredients; mix well. Roll out dough 1/4 inch thick on lightly floured surface; cut with biscuit cutter. Put on greased pan and brush with melted butter or shortening. Bake at 400 degrees about 12 minutes. Dough can be frozen and used when needed or can be put in covered bowl and refrigerated for up to a week.
