1/2 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 cup buttermilk (1 cup milk +
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon vinegar)

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter; add sugar and eggs and beat. In a separate container, combine buttermilk, salt, and soda. Stir into sugar, eggs, and butter mixture. Add cornmeal and flour. Stir. Bake in greased 8" square metal pan at 375º for 30 minutes, glass pan at 350º for 30 minutes.
