Directions:
Mix 2 cups white flour with the yeast, 2 tablespoons sugar and water; cover and let sit for 10 minutes. Heat the milk, shortening and oil, sugar and salt on the stove until shortening is melted. Cool and add to first mixture. Add 6 cups of flour (white or wheat). Mix; add 8 cups more. Knead until smooth. Add flour if needed. Let rise in bowl for 10 min. Divide into five sections. Let the dough sit for 5 minutes. Roll each into a rectangle and fold into an envelope to make loaves. Put each into a greased pan. Let it rise for 1/2 an hour. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Butter the tops of the hot loaves for shine and a little flavor, if desired.

This recipe is also wonderful for cinnamon rolls. This is very tasty bread. Rather than forming the dough into loaves, you can roll out the dough and make cinnamon rolls. Let it rise for 1/2 an hour and bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
