1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 1/2 cup sifted flour
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup milk
6 - 8 large peeled apples, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla

1/3 cup butter or oleo melted
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 to 1 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup coconut

Cream sugars and shortening. Add eggs. Sift dry ingredients. Add alternating with milk. Add apples and vanilla. Pour in greased 9"x13" or 11"x14" cake pan. Set aside, make topping.

Mix topping and sprinkle on the cake. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes. Best if served hot and topped with Cool Whip.
