3 cups fresh peaches, sliced
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. almind extract
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. sugar
1/3 cup shortening
1/2 cup milk
1 egg, well beaten
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. lemon peel, grated.

Preheat over 375

Arrange peach slices in a greased 8 x 8 inch baking dish. Place in oven 10 minutes or until peaches are heated. Remove.

Mix together 1/2 cup sugar, lemon peel and almond extract, spread over hot peaches.

Sift flour, salt and 2 tbsp. sugar together. Place in mixing bowl, add shortening and cut in shortening until mixture is like course crumbs.

Mix milk and eggs together, mix in just enough flour mixture is moistened. Spread mixture over hot peaches.

Bake 40 minutes or until golden brown.
