2 lbs. frozen hash browns
1/2 c. melted butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 c. sour cream
2 c. grated cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 to 1 c. cracker crumbs (smashed Ritz, Club crackers or corn flakes)
1 T. butter

Directions:
Spread frozen potatoes in 13 x 9 inch pan and let thaw. Mix remaining ingredients, pour over potatoes and top with buttered crumbs. Bake at 350 º for 1 hour.
