1 stick margarine
2 c. sugar
4 T. cocoa powder
1/2 c. milk
2 & 1/2 c. Oatmeal (Quick Cook not instant)
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar and cocoa. Melt margarine in med. pot. Add milk and sugar-cocoa. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Cook 2 full minutes after full boil begins. Remove from heat. Add peanut butter, vanilla, oatmeal and nuts and mix well. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto wax paper. Since mixture will be hot, a cookie scoop works well.

Growing up we always had these ingredients on hand. This is the first thing I learned to make from Mother. I would eat half of them before they cooled. Peanut butter was not in our original recipe so the original probably had a little more margarine and more pecans.
