2 sticks butter
1 cup water
4 tablespoons cocoa
2 cups plain flour
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon soda
½ teaspoon salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs, beaten lightly

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter and add 1 cup water. Bring to a boil. Mix cocoa, flour, sugar, soda and salt. Add to butter and water. Then add buttermilk, vanilla and eggs. Bake in large, greased jellyroll pan at 350º for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool before frosting.

Frosting
1 stick butter
1/3 cup buttermilk
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 box powdered sugar (3 cups)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup coconut
1 cup pecans, broken into pieces or chopped

Melt butter; add buttermilk and cocoa. Bring to a boil. Then add sugar, vanilla, coconut and nuts. Spread warm frosting quickly on cake. (May thin with small amount of water if necessary.)
