2 bags of unwrapped caramels
1 stick butter or margarine
12 oz can of evaporated milk

Directions:
Directions:
Melt the ingredients in a double boiler or on low in a heavy sauce pan (Do not try to microwave for the initial process).

Stir until all the caramel is melted. It will be very runny but will firm up when it cools off. You can store in refrigerator and when you are ready to serve it then you can put it in the microwave to get it to the consistency you want. Start out with 1 minute increments and stir.
