2 c. oatmeal
2 c. flour
1 T. ginger (I used a bit less)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/2 c. butter, room temperature
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. molasses
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. dried cranberries

Glaze
1 1/4 c. confectioners sugar
2 T. plus 1 t. water

Preheat oven 350º. Mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and allspice with oatmeal in bowl. On medium speed, beat butter and shortening in large bowl until creamy. Beat in brown sugar until fluffy; add molasses, egg and vanilla. On low speed, beat in oat mixture and fold in cranberries. Drop by tablespoon on ungreased baking sheet; press lightly. Bake 12 to 14 minutes, until cracked and spread. Let stand 2 minutes on sheet and then transfer to rack to cool. Prepare glaze: stir together sugar and water until smooth; brush glaze over cookie tops. Set on rack to dry. Store between sheets of waxed paper in air tight container at room temperature up to 2 weeks.
