1 can pie cherries in juice
1 3 oz. pkg. cook and serve vanilla pudding (NOT INSTANT)
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. lemon juice
3/4 cup cherry juice and water

Directions:
Directions:
1. Drain cherries. Heat the cherries with 1/2 cup of
the juice to boiling.
2. Mix the pudding with sugar, salt, lemon juice and cherry juice and water.
3. Stir above mixture into boiling fruit, stir and cook to a full boil. Then add 1 T. butter and a few drops of red food coloring.
4. Cook 5 minutes. Pour into baked pie shell or dessert dishes. Refrigerate at least 3 hours.
