Apple Dumpling Recipe

2 Granny Smith Apples
2 pkgs Crescent Rolls
2 Sticks Butter
2 C Sugar
1-2 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Vanilla
10 oz Mountain Dew

Peel Apples. Cut apples into 8 slices. (You can microwave apples for 2 min if you like). Melt butter and pour over sugar; add vanilla and cinammon to mixture. Unwrap crescent rolls; take each triangle, add a slice of apple, covering all with dough. Place each dumpling in sugar and butter mixture. Dough should stay closed while baking. Pour Mountain Dew over the butter and sugar mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.

This is a delicious dessert. The dumplings are so pretty and bubbly when removed from oven.

I found it to be quite sweet and have cut back on the sugar by 1/2 C. Also, I try and find large GS apples. You really have to stretch the dough, but it will cover.
