Chow Chow Relish Recipe

4 c. Onion
4 c. Cabbage
4 c. Green Tomatoes
12 Green Peppers
6 Red Sweet Peppers
1/2 c. Salt
4 c. Vinegar
6 c. Sugar
2 c. Water
1 tbsp. Celery Seed
1 1/2 tbsp. Turmeric
2 tbsp. Mustard Seed

Grind coarsley all vegetables, sprinkle on salt and let stand overnight. Rinse and drain. In large pot, combine vinegar, sugar, water and spices. Heat to boiling, until sugar is dissolved. Add drained vegetables and simmer for 3 minutes. While still very hot, place in sterilized jars and seal.
