1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
4 egg yolks (save whites)
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1 lg. can of cherry pie filling
1 c. finely chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg yolks, butter, 1/2 c. sugar and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking soda and powder. Work together well and press on a lg. cookie sheet (sprayed with Pam). Spread can of cherries on top of dough. Beat 4 egg whites until they form a peak, adding 1/2 c. sugar. Spread this over cherry filling. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 350º 30-40 minutes. Be careful not to get too brown!!
