2 lb. ground beef
2 onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 large can tomato sauce, or 1 can of tomato paste and 2 c. water
1/3 c. tomato juice
2 cans of chili beans
1/2 tsp. oregano
2 - 4 tbsp. chili powder
Taco chips, crushed

Toppings: cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream

Directions:
Directions:
Brown ground beef with onions and garlic. Add the tomato sauce or paste and the tomato juice. Mix the beans with the oregano and the chili powder. Make layers in the casserole: #1 Meat and tomato sauce, #2 beans and herbs, #3 crushed taco chips.
Repeat layers.

To serve: Crush chips on a plate. Top with the casserole. Garnish with cheese, lettuce and chopped tomatoes.
