1/2 c raisins
1/2 c shortening
1 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 c flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cloves
1/2 c nuts
1 c applesauce
1 c fruit cake mix, candied
Extra candied red cherries if desired, cut up

Cream shortening, add sugar, vanilla, egg and cream. Sift dry ingredients. Combine nuts, raisins & candied fruit with 1/4 c of flour mixture. Add flour and applesauce to creamed mixture alternating. Add fruit mix. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes.
