5 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
3 tsp baking powder
4 TBS sugar
2 pkgs. active dry yeast
2 TBS warm water
2 cups buttermilk
1 cup shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix flour, salt, soda, baking powder and sugar. Add yeast and shortening. Add buttermilk and mix only until blended
Let rise one hour.
Roll out on floured surface; cut into biscuits. Bake at 400ºF until browned. (Let rise before baking)
May be stored in covered container in refrigerator for several days.
